A Magical Muggle Meal

Another Halloween dinner has come and gone, but tonight we celebrated Harry Potter and all of the its magical goodness.  We now have full bellies and good memories.

Dinner with the "floating candles"

"Deathly Hallows" stew was a vegetable stew with miniature purple potatoes as Resurrection Stones, the puff pastry was the Cloak of Invisibility, and thin breadsticks and olives for the Elder Wand.  Elder wands were an epic fail since the olives made the breadsticks soft and they didn't lean against the bowls :(  The Deathly Hallows symbol is roasted carrots and a yam circle.
Mandrakes in salad are shrunken apple heads with cinnamon for coloring and chopped olive "dirt."
All washed down with butterbeer.

The Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans and chocolate frog boxes were free downloads.  They were a pain to cut and assemble, but worth it.  Golden snitches with vellum wings.

I created the mandrake from papier mache and styrofoam.

Showing some love for my favorite character Luna Lovegood

We finished our meal with the three wizards competing for the Tri-Wizard Cup with a Harry Potter trivia game.  Wizard Shayne of the House of Gryffindor took home the cup and an iTunes gift card for winning the trivia contest with only one wrong answer!  Well done you.
