The lazy days of Summerween are here. Beautiful dark red sunflowers have been on the kitchen table for over a week. The sad ones are being replaced with happier ones on a daily basis. The unripened Chinese lanterns were too pretty to throw away when they were accidentally pruned. I'm going to be up to my eyeballs with Chinese Lanterns this year and any gardener who has grown this plant knows what I mean.
We've had a couple of Halloween-themed dinners this month to get us in the mood for my favorite season. Tonight, I will start on this monster portrait puzzle. Found this one at the independent toy store, Off the Wagon, in Kent, OH.
We've been playing Disney's The Haunted Mansion board game, which is really fun and I highly recommend for the Halloween season. Wal-Mart has it for a good price.
This was the first spooky puzzle of the year. Amazing quality and they have some fun puzzles. I purchased this one from Crate & Barrel, but check out their website mudpuppy. I ordered two additional Halloween puzzles from them, so it's shaping up to be a busy puzzle summer. This puzzle reminded me of a Hallmark 1970s haunted house puzzle that I had as a kid. I LOVED that puzzle. I don't even know how many times I assembled and stared at it, but I wish I still had it today. It took less than 20 minutes for Chris, Shayne, and me to put it together, but the shape and illustrations are so cute, I couldn't resist.
Stay cool and spooky!👻
